1. Sunday, September 11, Dog Surf-A-Thon

Helen Woodward Animal Center hosts the sixth annual Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon, the largest surf dog contest in the country. The

event, which is sponsored by Eukanuba, takes place at Dog Beach in Del Mar, features a 9/11 tribute to police and search and rescue dogs as well as more than 80 surf dogs. See internet sensation surf dogs Ricochet, Nani, Dozer and Buddy in action! The Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon also includes celebrity judges, a pet costume contest, and 70 vendor booths.
