3. Tuesday, October 11– Dubapalooza Featuring Mad Professor

Mad Professor is one of the grand kings of Dub. He’s old school with over 20 albums and has worked with a lot of the reggae greats including Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, either on joining projects or by simply laying down beats. Mad Professor did an album with Massive Attack, a british Acid Jazz band and did very well. If you are into Dub then you need to get into Mad Professor!!

San Diego-based artist Becky Guttin will transform the OMA lobby with a playful installation inspired by memories of her childhood growing up in Mexico City. Working with Mexican cultural symbols such as mythical folk animals, tortillas and miniature houses, she investigates the meaning of home, family and identity. This new body of work also explores her interest in the contradictions of life, and the cultural conflict she struggles with every day.
