2. Monday, April 30Wings of Freedom Tour

The Collings Foundation Wings of Freedom Tour featuring historic WWII aircraft will be at Palomar Airport from Friday, April 27 at 2:00p.m. to Monday, April 30 at 12:00 p.m. Weekend hours are 9 to 5. The tour features B-17 and B-24 bombers, and a P-51 fighter. Walk through tours are $12 for adults, $6 for children and WWII vets are free. Flights are available, starting at $425. 4. Wednesday, May 2– Guitarist Jimmy Patton

As part of the first Wednesday Programs offered by the Friends of the Library, on May 2nd between 7 and 8 pm Jimmy Patton will perform. Jimmy is a nationally acclaimed guitarist renowned for his ability to play two separate guitars at the same time. Whoopi Goldberg launched onto the performing arts scene in a big way after her acting chops were noticed in her own one-woman stage show. A director took liked Whoopi and asked her to bring the show to Broadway. While there in the mid-1908s, she apparently caught the eye of movie director Steven Spielberg, who was getting ready to shoot The Color Purple. Goldberg was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance. She won role after role and received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her part in the movie Ghost. She performed a series of HBO specials in the late 80s and continues to make audiences laugh.
