The Woodwork of Our Historic Homes in Mission Hills
Saturday January 15th offers the opportunity to come out to an educational afternoon focused on understanding woodwork used in older San Diego homes, particulary the character homes and historic homes of our Mission Hills.
The introduction is “Where did all that wood come from, anyway?” Followed by a first lecture of “Reading the Grain: Understanding the role of woodwork in mainting the character of a building.” And a second lecture: “Understanding your wood trim.”
Table top displays will be in the courtyard of the Francis Parker Lower School and you can meet and talk to our local wood supply and preservation community.
Refreshments will be served in the courtyard.
Don’t forget to also save the date for these Mission Hills Heritage 2011 events:
Seventh annual Historic Home Tour, April 2,2011
Walking Tour, Septermber 24,2011
