Saving Money on Your Home in San Diego

The Home Star Bill was recently passed and if you are planning on rennovating your home, there are some advantages to you so you can save money.  Similar to “Cash for Clunkers” this is nicknamed “Cash for Caulkers” to provide you rebates for adding better insulation to your homes and more energy efficient windows.

The hope is that the new bill will aid the economy with new job growth in the hard hit construction industry and also save homeowners money on energy.

Supporters estimate that 3 million households will make use of the new program, saving $9 billion in energy costs over a ten year period and adding 150,000+ jobs to the construction industry, which was hit hard and has been troubled since 2006 by the housing industry.
