10 Things To Do in San Diego on Memorial Day
Most of you will probably be at a barbeque with friends and family on Memorial Day, but for those of you that are looking for something new to do or are coming in from out of town, I’m blown away by the choices we have!
Here’s a list of 10 various events, I’ve found about 30 total, so if you’d like the complete list of things to do in San Diego, send an email to [email protected]
1. Day of Remembrance Bagpipe music, reading, wreath tribute, and canon salute all in Fort Rosecrans, a beautiful place to be.
2. Go Padres! Go to Petco Park to see the San Diego Padres play the New York Mets on Memorial Day. See more here
3. Rooftop Yoga Gorgeous ocean views on the rooftop terrace of the Porto Vista hotel in Little Italy. Open to the public and hotel guests, mingle afterwards with hotel cocktails and appetizers.
4. Daley Ranch Hike for kids One hour hike for kids and parents at the Daley Ranch with an arts and craft session afterwards. Bring a snack!
5. Middle-Eastern Drums and Belly Dance Class Well known percussionist in San Diego, classes include live drums and $3 admission.
6. Polynesian tattoo and body art with Kawa served. I am really excited about this! Not because of the tatto per say, but in reading about Kawa or Kava, it sounds like the latest health drink.
7. Try a free tango lesson in beautiful NTC Promenade
8. Bachata lessons in Old Town! Margaritas and dancing in the heart of the Birthplace of California 7.30-8.30 pm.
9. SwingOrama in North Park. Jump swing and sultry swing both included and you can get the basic tools to dance with ease.
10. Last but not least, go out for some karaoke at Coyote Bar and Grill and belt out some tunes. 5 star rating on Yelp.
Whatever you end up doing, I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend. I’ll be laboring over some homeowner association issues, but hopefully can make a stop at Barra Barra for some dancing.
Didn’t see anything that made you do cartwheels on that list? There are about 20 other events on Memorial Day from blues, jazz, Menghei, clog dancing, and numerous salsa joints. Email me for a complete list: [email protected]
